When you tour the Ben & Jerry's Factory in Vermont they have Hired Cool People who's job it is is to make the cool ice cream cool and as such they are themselves cool, cooler than you or I might be on any random occasion unless we were ourselves subjected to such extremes of coolness or coolosity or perhaps even coolmanations of dalmations all spotted and jumpy and then surely others might well then say "say they sure are cool!" Cool? Cool...

Hate when ice cream is too cold though!
First time I ever saw Stephen Colbert, about a 1/2 dozen years ago, he was on the Daily Show doing a bit about national cherry month... His closing reply was something like " Who would want to eat Garcia flavored ice cream anyway!"

I suspect that one day he and GenniBenni and Midnight Sun and some others will splinter off from here and make a forum for the non-musictarded Head. And, we will stand runny-nosed, in the cold, peering in through the frosty homepage while they banter back and for about major and minor chords and augmentation.

Yes indeedy! As we have discussed before, j, always a source of puzzlement for me to find that various interests and behaviors of mine do not represent "cool" for the kids and wife, but rather, eccentric--embarrassing even!--aspects better left ignored on their part.
I did read in Dear Abbey today that after dad's give up these behaviors or grow too old to partake that the wife and kids forgive and recall the strangeness with affection.
So, rest easy--one day they may smile fondly rather than running from the room screaming...

Don't worry I have the exact same problem. I have gotten way less cool in my son's eyes since I revived this grateful dead thing. He informed me the other day that people who listen to the grateful dead are not normal. He admits some of the music is good, but the phenomenon overall is simply not normal.
